iSchool Partners with Egyptian Industry to Empower Children with AI Skills, Fighting Child Labor

Digital education initiatives in Egypt are increasingly using technology to tackle social challenges. They do this by giving children digital skills that open up better learning and work opportunities for them in the future. iSchool recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI). This signing took place alongside the launch of a new code of conduct for regulating child training and employment, and a graduation ceremony for participants in a vocational training program. This collaboration is part of the ETEL Egypt project, which is being carried out by the International Labour Organization (ILO) with support from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation – Cairo Office (AICS). It's all part of a bigger effort to reduce child labor by offering sustainable education and training opportunities. Under this MoU, iSchool will launch a digital skills program in the Al Asmarat district. This program aims to teach children at risk of child labor about artificial intelligence (AI) and technology skills, helping to develop their abilities and prepare them for better future opportunities. iSchool emphasized that this partnership stems from its belief that fighting child labor isn't just about laws and regulations. It's also about providing access to education, technology, and digital skills that create real alternatives, empowering children to actively participate in the digital economy in the future.
