Founders Media, the company behind WAYA Media, has announced a strategic investment from Foras.ai. This investment is set to boost WAYA Media's ability to expand its bilingual coverage of business and startup news across Egypt, the GCC, and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The deal was advised and facilitated by Exits MENA, a consulting firm in which Foras.ai holds a stake. Exits MENA specializes in supporting startups and SMEs through deal structuring, consulting, and strategy execution. WAYA Media is a bilingual media platform that covers business, investment, and technology news. It serves founders, operators, and investors in Egypt, the GCC, and the broader region. The platform includes two commercial divisions: WAYA Works, which handles sponsored content, and WAYA Studio, which provides production and editorial services for regional clients. This investment aims to strengthen three key areas: first, expanding the editorial and operational teams to increase coverage and content; second, deepening data-driven content capabilities to deliver more analytical and insightful journalism; and third, accelerating the development of video content and new product formats to broaden the platform's reach across different audiences and platforms. Mohamed Aboul Naga (Negati), the founder of Foras.ai, emphasized that this investment brings more than just capital. He highlighted the importance of their business network and expertise in supporting the growth of WAYA Works and WAYA Studio, and in enhancing the platform's reach within the region's business community. Gamal Helmy, Co-founder and CEO of WAYA Media, stated that the partnership reflects a shared vision and the potential to accelerate the platform's editorial and commercial growth. Meanwhile, Onsi Sawiris, Co-founder at HOF Capital, noted that their ongoing support aims to transform WAYA into the go-to reference for business news in the Arab world. WAYA Media was founded through a partnership between Gamal Helmy and HOF Capital. It offers bilingual content that makes complex economic topics easy to understand, alongside its two commercial divisions serving regional clients. Foras.ai, on the other hand, is an investment platform focused on high-growth tech companies in emerging markets, providing strategic support that goes beyond traditional capital.
