A report from Visual Capitalist has revealed a list of the world's largest social media platforms for 2026, ranked by their monthly active users.

The report highlighted that Facebook leads global social media platforms with approximately 3.1 billion monthly active users. Instagram and WhatsApp followed, securing the second and third spots respectively, each with around 3 billion users.

YouTube came in fourth with 2.5 billion monthly active users, with TikTok close behind at about 2 billion users.

WeChat recorded approximately 1.4 billion monthly active users, while both Messenger and Telegram each reached about 1 billion users.

Further down the list, Snapchat had around 900 million monthly active users, and Reddit registered about 850 million users.

According to the report, these figures clearly show the continued global growth in social media usage and how much more people are relying on these platforms for digital communication, consuming content, and accessing various services.
