Raafat Hendy, Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, recently met with Augusta Spinelli, SAP's Regional President for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), and her accompanying delegation. During their meeting, they explored ways to boost SAP's investments in Egypt and expand its business operations, especially in the outsourcing sector. The discussion also covered potential collaborations in cloud computing. This aligns with Egypt's national strategy to strengthen its digital sovereignty over data and applications, while also expanding advanced cloud services within the Egyptian market. These services will leverage artificial intelligence technologies, helping to improve the digital services offered to customers. They also touched upon enhancing cooperation in digital capacity building. This will involve specialized training programs designed to prepare young people for the job market by equipping them with advanced skills in SAP's technological solutions, ultimately boosting their readiness to compete in the global job market. Both sides also discussed the possibility of working together to conduct a comprehensive study on the job market requirements in technology fields related to SAP's solutions. This initiative aims to ensure that training outcomes perfectly match the actual needs of the market. Raafat Hendy emphasized the Ministry's commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of the communications and information technology sector, both regionally and internationally. They plan to achieve this by creating an attractive business environment that encourages global companies to expand in Egypt and increase their exports of digital services. He also highlighted the Ministry's keen interest in expanding partnerships with global companies to build digital capabilities. This effort will help prepare highly specialized professionals, support companies' expansion plans, and strengthen Egypt's position as a global hub for outsourcing and cross-border information technology services.
