Egypt is really pushing to grow its innovation scene in AI and advanced technologies. They're doing this by organizing competitive events that bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, and students. The big goal is to turn cool tech ideas into working prototypes that can solve real-world problems in key sectors, ultimately boosting Egypt's innovation and tech entrepreneurship ecosystem. In line with this vision, Silicon Waha company has opened applications for the "Tech for Impact" hackathon. This event is specifically for university students, early-stage startups, engineers, developers, and tech specialists. The aim is to use technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, and other emerging tech to create innovative solutions that will have a positive economic and social impact. The hackathon is set to kick off on July 20th at the "Egypt Makes Electronics" lab, located in the Borg El Arab New City Technology Zone. During the competition, participants will work in teams to develop prototypes for their tech projects. **Tech Solutions for Key Sector Challenges** The hackathon is all about designing practical solutions to tackle real challenges across several important sectors. These include transportation, environment, healthcare, education, logistics, accessibility, and safety. Participating teams will get to present their projects to a specialized judging panel, who will evaluate them based on innovation, feasibility, and expected impact. **Five Competition Tracks and Prizes for Winners** Participants will compete across five main tracks: Artificial Intelligence applications, Robotics and Smart Automation, Cybersecurity and Digital Trust, Smart Logistics and Postal Innovations, and finally, Smart Systems and Emerging Technologies. This setup allows participants to develop solutions that perfectly match their technical specialties and interests. To really encourage innovation, the company has set aside cash prizes for the hackathon winners. The first-place team will receive 25,000 EGP, second place gets 15,000 EGP, and third place will take home 10,000 EGP. This is a fantastic way to motivate young people to create practical tech innovations and boost Egypt's culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
