All eyes in Egypt's entrepreneurship and innovation community are turning to Mansoura University! It's getting ready to host one of the most exciting student events nationwide: the global Hult Prize finals, set for Monday, May 11, 2026. This event is organized in partnership with the United Nations. Its main goal is to pick the winning team that will represent Egypt in the global finals, which will take place in London, UK, this September. The teams will be competing for a grand prize of one million US dollars, specifically designed to help turn entrepreneurial ideas into sustainable projects with real social and economic impact. This year's finals will see a huge turnout, with over 60 startups representing about 40 Egyptian universities. These teams will compete under the watchful eyes of an international judging panel, with many official figures and ministers attending. You'll also see representatives from the United Nations in Egypt, presidents of the participating universities, and a fantastic group of investors and entrepreneurs. The event aims to really showcase the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of Egyptian youth. It's all about supporting them in transforming their ideas into scalable, sustainable companies that can tackle global challenges. Mansoura University was chosen to host this event because of its outstanding track record in the competition over the past few years. One of its student projects, the "Lothgha" application, achieved a remarkable global feat by being ranked among the top 6 projects worldwide in the 2024 edition of the competition. This selection also reflects international appreciation for the university's administrative talent. Mansoura University's campus director, Mustafa Attia, was chosen among the top 5 directors across universities in the Middle East and North Africa for 2025. This really boosts the university's image as an educational institution capable of both organization and leadership. On the global stage, Egyptian teams have consistently shown a strong presence in this international competition. Several teams have successfully reached the final stages in previous years, including: Team ReNile (Alexandria University), which made it to the global finals in 2018. Team Lothgha (Mansoura University), which qualified for the 2024 global finals and delivered an outstanding performance in the international competition. Team EcoPack (Menoufia University), which reached the global final stages in 2024 as one of Egypt's most notable participants. The Hult Prize is known as one of the world's largest student competitions in social entrepreneurship. It's organized in partnership with the United Nations, with over 200,000 students from about 130 countries participating annually. Times Magazine even called it the "Nobel Prize for students" because of its global impact. The winning team receives a million US dollars in funding to turn their idea into a real-world project.
