Hoda Baraka, Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Technological Skills Development, announced that the “Digital Egypt Generations” initiative has successfully trained and qualified approximately 277,000 beneficiaries since its launch in 2021. This achievement really shows the state's commitment to building a strong foundation of digital talent, ready to keep pace with the fast-changing tech world and today's job market. **Diverse Programs** During a graduation ceremony for new groups from the initiative, Baraka explained that “Digital Egypt Generations” offers a complete system of training programs. These programs are designed for all age groups, from young children all the way up to youth and university graduates, ensuring that Egypt prepares continuous generations of specialists in communications and information technology fields. The advisor mentioned that the initiative includes several programs tailored for different age groups. For instance, the “Digital Egypt Builders” program, which is specifically for graduates, has helped around 997 trainees. The “Digital Egypt Pioneers” program, aimed at youth and university students, has seen about 34,000 trainees. Plus, the “Digital Egypt Cubs” program reached approximately 112,000 students from various school levels, while the “Digital Egypt Buds” program, for children in early stages, registered about 130,000 beneficiaries. Baraka emphasized that these programs aren't just about teaching technical skills. They also focus on developing personal and practical skills. This holistic approach helps prepare qualified individuals for advanced fields like programming, data analysis, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, while also boosting innovation and entrepreneurship. She added that the initiative uses advanced training curricula that are constantly updated to match global developments. This ensures that graduates are well-equipped to compete both regionally and internationally. **Expansion and Geographic Reach** Baraka also noted that the Ministry is working hard to expand these programs to cover all governorates. The goal is to ensure fair access to training opportunities and help discover and nurture talent across the entire country, with a special focus on integrating technology into education right from the early stages. **Digital Generations for a Knowledge Economy** The “Digital Egypt Generations” initiative stands out as one of the most important national efforts aimed at preparing generations ready to lead Egypt's digital economy in the future. This is especially crucial as the world rapidly shifts towards a knowledge-based economy and the demand for technological skills grows both locally and globally.
