Cobi, a company based in the UAE, is building a fresh approach to handling customer data. They're developing an AI layer that connects user behavior analysis with identifying opportunities and risks, then turns these insights into actionable decisions and steps. This is a big step up from just showing data on separate dashboards. Right now, the company describes itself as an "AI-powered product growth system." Its goal is to help product and growth teams move beyond manually digging through data to getting direct answers to growth questions. Even better, it helps them turn those answers into actions that can be implemented, measured, and learned from. Cobi was founded in 2024 and is headquartered in Dubai, UAE. They focus on customer intelligence, product analytics, consumer behavior, and spending, alongside AI applications and smart agents. Co-founder and CEO Darren Edmund leads the company, while Botlhale Mosoane serves as Co-founder and CTO.

From Data Analysis to Decision-Making

Cobi's model tackles a common challenge faced by companies: they have increasing amounts of customer data, but it's scattered across many different systems. These systems include purchase transactions, product usage, customer relationship management (CRM), marketing, customer service, payment systems, and various apps and websites. The platform works by connecting these different signals to build a more complete picture of the customer. It monitors important changes in their behavior, like a drop in engagement or signs that they might be about to leave. Then, it moves from just identifying a problem to suggesting the right action to improve key metrics like Activation, Retention, and Revenue. The model is built on three interconnected stages: It starts with "Understand" to grasp user data, behavior, and their journey. Next is "Decide" to pinpoint opportunities and risks, prioritize them by potential impact, and suggest what the company calls the "Next Best Action." Finally, it moves to "Act continuously" to turn that decision into an action within the systems the company already uses, then uses the results to refine future decisions. Cobi isn't trying to replace a company's existing technology infrastructure. Instead, it provides an intelligent layer that connects with the tools and systems already in place. The platform supports various databases and data warehouses, along with CRM, analytics, e-commerce, customer service, and communication tools. This includes popular names like Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Salesforce, Shopify, Stripe, HubSpot, Google Analytics, Zendesk, and Intercom. The backgrounds of Cobi's founders really reflect the product the company is developing. Darren Edmund has nearly a decade of experience in data-driven digital transformation. He previously consulted for European financial institutions during his time at Deloitte and also served as Chief Business Officer at dropp. Meanwhile, Botlhale Mosoane brings almost a decade of experience in building and scaling technical products within startups and global organizations, including Amazon Web Services. This expertise strongly supports the company's direction of building a specialized product that links company data with growth operations and decision-making.

Cobi Activate: Bringing Customer Intelligence to User Experience

One of the most exciting product developments is the launch of Cobi Activate. This aims to move Customer Intelligence from separate analytics dashboards directly into the user experience itself. It does this by using insights into customer behavior to deliver personalized offers, recommendations, products, features, and messages. It also takes actions designed to boost customer retention or increase engagement based on the behavior of each customer segment. This model is especially valuable for sectors that handle large amounts of transaction data, particularly banks, FinTech companies, and payment providers. In these areas, data can be transformed into highly personalized experiences and offers.

Mastercard: A Gateway to Financial Services

Cobi has boosted its expansion into the financial sector by joining the Mastercard Engage Partner Program. This partnership allows Cobi to target applications in digital solutions, personal finance management, and digital benefits and offers, with a strong focus on the Middle East and Africa markets, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, and Lebanon. According to Mastercard's description, the platform combines artificial intelligence, automation, behavioral learning, and Product Intelligence. This helps banks and FinTech companies discover patterns within transaction and interaction data, allowing them to develop more personalized financial experiences.

Egypt: A Key Stop in the 2026 Expansion Strategy

Egypt's market has become a more prominent focus for Cobi's moves in 2026, thanks to its partnership with eNovate, a subsidiary of eFinance Investment Group. The two companies announced the integration of Cobi's AI infrastructure into eNovate's digital payment ecosystem, starting with the Rize application. The goal is to leverage behavioral and interaction data to deliver more personalized experiences, especially for the youth segment. This partnership gains additional importance because the agreement spans 5 years. This moves the use of Cobi's solutions from a limited technical trial to a long-term institutional application within the payments and financial services sector. Before this, Cobi strengthened its presence in the UAE's technology ecosystem by joining the Dubai AI Campus. It was also selected for the first cohort of the Presight AI-Startup Accelerator in June 2025, where it was one of only 10 companies chosen from 120 applications from AI companies across 17 countries. Cobi also participated in the Dubai Founders HQ Accelerator, which gave it access to networks of startups, investors, and institutions in Dubai.

Company-Announced Growth Metrics and New Funding

Darren Edmund shared in a previous update that since its launch, Cobi has processed the behaviors and needs of over half a million people, with expectations to double this number in a short period. The company also announced performance indicators, including reducing the time needed to go from decision to execution by about 12 times, improving User Activation by 68% through Dynamic Segmentation, and increasing the average revenue per user within engaged segments by approximately 3.8 times. Additionally, 89% of growth decisions are now automated from start to finish. It's important to note that, according to the article, these figures are company-announced metrics and not results from an independent study. The latest development in the company's journey came on August 11, 2026, with the announcement of raising $1 million in a Pre-Seed funding round led by Lunara Partners, with participation from Plug and Play, Annex Investments, and Spring. Cobi plans to use this funding to accelerate the adoption of its solutions within institutions across the Middle East and international markets. They also aim to deepen their capabilities in customer intelligence, recommendations, and decision-making, and further automate the processes that connect customer signals with implemented decisions. This funding propels the company into a new phase, moving beyond just proving product viability to testing its ability for institutional and commercial scaling, especially after a series of partnerships and applications in the payments sector. Cobi's core bet remains its ability to move beyond traditional analytics tools and build an AI-powered decision layer on top of companies' existing technological infrastructure. This way, data transforms from just a source of information into actionable and measurable business decisions. However, dealing with customer and transaction data presents a major test for the company's ability to scale. This makes governance, privacy, and data security essential elements on this path. Cobi states that its practices align with ISO 27001 and GDPR, and that it does not use customer data to train its models. However, its privacy policy clarifies the use of third-party AI service providers in the context of AI products. Therefore, Cobi enters this current phase with a clear objective: to transform the understanding of customer behavior into automated business decisions on an institutional scale, relying increasingly on partnerships in financial services and payments, regional expansion, and new funding to accelerate this growth.
