Boosting Tech Skills: MCS and Wadhwani Foundation Tackle Cybersecurity Talent Gap

To address this, Middle East Information Technology Services Company (MCS), a value-added distributor for cybersecurity solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wadhwani Foundation. The Wadhwani Foundation is a global non-profit dedicated to skill development and boosting employment opportunities. This strategic partnership aims to train young talent, make the workforce more ready for technology and cybersecurity roles, and connect skilled individuals with job opportunities across Egypt and the wider region. This partnership comes from a shared vision to build a complete system for developing human capabilities. They plan to do this by improving technical and professional skills, preparing qualified people for the job market, and supporting employment. They'll also share expertise and organize joint initiatives and events that help foster innovation and link educational outcomes with the needs of the technology sector. The MoU also includes plans to create a specialized center to support cybersecurity talent. On top of that, they'll boost cooperation with government bodies and relevant organizations to run programs focused on skill development and increasing employment rates in the sector. Engineer Tarek Shabaka, Chairman of MCS, stated that building human capabilities is the cornerstone of any successful digital transformation strategy. He emphasized that investing in youth is just as important as investing in technology, a principle reflected in the programs MCS runs through its training arm, Xpand CS. He added that this partnership with Wadhwani Foundation highlights MCS's commitment to building a comprehensive system for training skilled individuals and connecting them with the job market's needs. This will help prepare a generation with the technical and practical skills needed to lead the future digital economy. On her part, Hind Galgal, Regional Director for Wadhwani Foundation in Egypt, said that collaborating with MCS is a significant step to broaden the impact of the Foundation's programs. They'll leverage MCS's expertise and connections within the IT sector, which will boost opportunities to prepare and qualify young people and link them to real job opportunities that meet the fast-paced demands of the job market.
