Fintech companies are really focusing on creating tools that make accepting digital payments super easy for merchants. They're all about solutions that speed up transactions and build more trust between sellers and buyers, especially as Egypt quickly moves towards a cashless economy.
In exciting news, banknbox, a regional platform specializing in Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) solutions, and Flash, one of Egypt's digital payment platforms, have announced the launch of the first 'Sound Box' device for digital payments in the Egyptian market! This comes after Flash received approval from the Central Bank of Egypt to introduce this cool new solution.
This innovative solution brings together Flash's payment platform and its huge network of merchants with banknbox's Banking-as-a-Service infrastructure. The goal? To give merchants all across Egypt a faster, more efficient, and much easier payment experience.
So, what exactly is the Sound Box? It's a smart device that you set up at your point of sale. When a digital payment goes through successfully, it instantly gives a voice notification. This means merchants don't have to keep checking their phone or the payment device screen to confirm they've received the money, letting them keep serving customers without any delays.
This device aims to tackle one of the biggest challenges in digital payments: that little gap between when a customer completes their payment and when the merchant confirms receiving the amount. It provides instant voice confirmation, making transactions quicker and more reliable.
The device works by accepting payments via QR codes, NFC, bank cards, or any other supported digital payment methods. Once the transaction is successful, it verbally announces the received amount in either Arabic or English.
What makes this solution stand out? It confirms payments super fast, builds trust between merchants and customers through a shared voice message, and is incredibly easy to use – no need to constantly watch screens or apps. This makes it perfect for merchants looking for simple, effective payment solutions.
Both companies confirmed that the launch of the Sound Box will also come with additional services designed to simplify payment acceptance and boost operational efficiency. This will really help businesses embrace digital payments and support Egypt's efforts towards financial inclusion and digital transformation.
The agreement was signed by Bassem Mahmoud, CEO of banknbox, and Sherine Kabsh, Co-founder of Flash. This really highlights both parties' commitment to developing innovative solutions that meet the needs of merchants and keep pace with the evolving digital payment market in Egypt.
